24th Budapest Wine Festival

One of Central Europe's most prestigious, most popular combined wine - art fest offers a grape harvest parade, Wine Academy, concerts, gourmet food and countless programs, in the beautiful historic setting of the UNESCO World Heritage site Buda Castle.

Year after year, Budapest's International Wine and Champagne Festival proves to be the highlight of the fall festival scene. In 2015, the fest presents some 220 wineries and up to 5,000 different wines, along with live music, gourmet food and countless programs, in the beautiful historic setting of the UNESCO World Heritage site Buda Castle.  The combined wine and art fest offers a grape harvest parade, a champagne knight initiation ceremony, a Wine Academy and folk music concerts.  Free WIFI and a smart phone app will be available that includes a map of the Wine Festival, information and contact details of exhibiting winemakers, a presentation of performing artists and groups, recommended wine tours and other important information of public interest.

Butlers Wine Quiz Bar

Drink wine, play and win! This year’s Budapest Wine Festival offers a playful new attraction. Take a little rest from wine tasting and visit the Butlers Wine Quiz Bar in the Oroszlános Courtyard. Here, following a quick registration, you can test your knowledge of wine, viticultural tools and wine regions, at the end of which players spin Budapest Wine Festival’s Wheel of Fortune.

Taste of Hungary

There are almost 140 grape varieties making up 22 historic wine regions in Hungary. The more than 200 wineries at the Wine Festival represent all Hungarian wine regions, and most varieties. Discocer these thru the fest's themed wine routes, and explore as many tastes and flavours as you can.

Gastro Walkway

Gastro Walkway brings you the novelties of street food. Besides the gastronomy exhibitors, a chilling garden ambience welcomes everyone who visits this corner of the festival area. The line-up of this year's wide repertoire includes the Montenegro Gurman who will appear first time at the Budapest Wine Festival to please all Balkan fanatics with freshly grilled dishes like Cevapcici and Pljeskavica. Further down on the Walkway you will find smoked chicken, gluten and egg free Hal (fish) & Chips, KOLBice – the 21st century version of hot-dog, fresh bagels from Bakker, and many more.
