After their latest album in 2017, Triggerfinger released a new song last year, which served as a precursor to their upcoming album arriving this fall. The Belgian band, once a frequent visitor to Budapest with their sultry rock sound is known for concerts that guaranteed carefree nights. It’s especially exciting, therefore, that not only will we soon hear new material from Triggerfinger, but they will also return to Hungary on October 28 at Analog Music Hall.
Triggerfinger is one of Belgium’s most refreshing rock exports, having played together for more than 25 years. The year 2025 marked a significant milestone for the band, as they released their first new song since 2017. However, the joy was short-lived: just days after the release came the news of the death of their iconic bassist, Monsieur Paul. Paul had left the band in 2023 due to health issues, but for Mario and Ruben, he always remained like a brother.
“Stars” proved successful among both longtime fans and new listeners, while also opening up new opportunities for the band. Triggerfinger returned to the stage with a 25-date international tour, with most shows quickly selling out. While last year’s “Stars” clearly connected to the band’s earlier repertoire, “Come Clean,” released this January, surprised both audiences and critics with its fresh sound, signaling a shift in direction. The band has promised two more new tracks, and in September their long-awaited new studio album will arrive - their first since 2017’s Colossus and the first without Monsieur Paul.
The recordings took place in Los Angeles, where Mitchell Froom helped push the band out of their comfort zone, encouraging Mario and Ruben to explore alternative songwriting methods and venture into the unknown without knowing exactly what the end result would be. With this new album, Triggerfinger not only returns to the scene but also proves they are among the few European rock bands that have survived changing trends.
On stage, Geoffrey Burton has taken over bass duties. Like Monsieur Paul, he approaches the instrument in his own unique way and has played with numerous renowned musicians, including Iggy Pop.
Triggerfinger is truly one of those bands you need to see live at least once in your life. Now back in top form, they’re returning to Budapest making their October 28 show at Analog Music Hall an unmissable event. Tickets are already available at.
