The KVB Return to Budapest

29 September 2026

Shrouded in haze and introspection, The KVB’s carefully crafted sonic world brings together electronics, cold wave and post-punk. Kat Day and Nicholas Wood will bring their dark yet danceable songs to Turbina Cultural Centre in Budapest on 9 December.

The KVB’s music evokes both the stark futurism of Cabaret Voltaire and the noisy romanticism of The Jesus and Mary Chain. Founded in 2010 as Nicholas Wood’s solo project, the group became a duo when Kat Day joined a year later. Ever since, they have continually shaped and expanded their distinctive sound. From the early albums Always Then and Immaterial Visions, through the taut electronics of Only Now Forever and the retro-futuristic landscapes of Unity, to the industrial dystopian pop of 2024’s Tremors, The KVB have consistently found new forms for melancholy and tension.

The band first performed in Budapest at Dürer Kert in 2018, before returning for Sziget in 2024. Following a break to start a family, they marked the tenth anniversary of Of Desire in 2026 with Of Desire – Demos & Outtakes. This December, they return to Budapest for a headline show at Turbina.
