The ebb and flow of the emotional tides – TENDER return to Budapest

09 February 2026

The British electronic indie duo TENDER are returning to Budapest with their new album Where The Waves Break, arriving this summer, performing on October 14 at Turbina Cultural Center.

Since forming in 2015, TENDER have become known for blending the intimacy of bedroom pop with festival-sized ambition. The duo, made up of James Cullen and Dan Cobb, have amassed hundreds of millions of streams. So far, they have released three studio albums, the most recent being Flux in 2023, and now Where The Waves Break arrives in June, showcasing the pair with renewed confidence and autonomy. To introduce the new material, they also released their latest single alongside the announcement of their autumn European tour.

“Heavy” sets the stage for an album that reflects on balance, duality, and the fragile space between calm and chaos. It establishes the tone for a record that explores the push and pull of opposing emotional forces — from certainty and contentment to doubt and restlessness.

Speaking about the single, TENDER said: “[It’s about] having a crisis of identity when you’re in the prime of your life. First-world problems. Wanting everyone to feel sorry for you when you have everything you need to be happy but still refuse to be.”

The songs were written and self-produced by James Cullen and Dan Cobb from their homes on the south coast of England. Where The Waves Break is TENDER’s most focused and ambitious work to date. It was created during a period when light and darkness could exist side by side. Rather than offering clear resolutions, the record comfortably inhabits the tension between extremes, capturing the emotional ebb and flow of everyday life. TENDER last performed in Budapest in 2019, but this time, on October 14, we can ride the waves of their newest songs together at Turbina Cultural Center.

Tickets for the show go on sale on February 9 at 11:00.
