The popular New Zealand band Mild Orange will be performing at the Turbina Cultural Centre on 12 November. This is the band's third time in Budapest, and after their highly successful performances in 2019 and 2022, they are returning with their fourth album.
The band was formed in 2017 in Dunedin, New Zealand, and has quickly become a major player in the indie world. Their first album, Foreplay, burst onto the scene in 2018, self-produced and mixed by frontman Josh Mehrtens. The album's iconic songs, such as Some Feeling and Mysight, have reached millions of views worldwide on YouTube.
Mild Orange's unique musical world combines dreamy pop and psychedelic rock, which at their live shows become a true musical journey full of emotion. With songs about friendship and love, they have achieved real success, as Billboard put it, “perfecting the art of making music for nostalgia.”
The band is currently working on their fourth studio album THE//GLOW, which will be released on August 8. The new material is divided into two parts: one evokes the “light” of roads to be explored through the instruments of heartland rock, while the other brings the atmosphere of city night lights with psychedelic sounds.
Mild Orange will be performing in 48 cities across North America, the UK and Europe on a major world tour to accompany THE//GLOW, with Budapest as a special stop. Opening the European shows will be HEAVYCHEST, another New Zealand act.
HEAVYCHEST is a music project founded by songwriter Andre Smith, which has taken many directions and released music in a variety of styles since its debut album PREHEAT in 2017. Currently Andre is a solo artist, performing intimate concerts and releasing self-produced music.
Tickets for the concert go on sale on 13 June at 10am.
