Gloriously chaotic – The Callous Daoboys at Dürer Kert

27 August 2025

The Callous Daoboys dance effortlessly between genres, whether it's angry metal screams or life-affirming rock and roll, and they do so in a tremendously entertaining way. The Atlanta-based band last visited Hungary as the opening act for TesseracT, and now they are coming to Budapest with their new  album I Don't Want To See You In Heaven on February 9, 2026, at Dürer Kert.

The Callous Daoboys from Atlanta are a fearless, free-spirited collective who have been making a sport of blending tension-filled extremes from angry metal cacophony to rock and roll since 2016. Kerrang! magazine called the band "gloriously chaotic," saying they are like a Molotov cocktail: they combine extreme metal and nu metal with life-affirming joy, while each of their songs wanders between different styles.

The perpetrators of all this are frontman Carson Pace, guitarists Maddie Caffrey and Daniel Hodson, bassist Jackie Buckalew, destructive drummer Matthew Hague, and temperamental violinist Amber Christman.

The band has been praised by several renowned magazines, who have described The Callous Daoboys as innovative, uncompromising, and daring. They have toured worldwide with bands such as TesseracT, Protest The Hero, and SeeYouSpaceCowboy.

The band has released three albums to date, with May's IDon't Want to See You in Heaven surpassing its predecessors on every level. Produced by Dom Maduri (Silly Goose, GEL, Bummer Hill), the album musically revisits all of the band's previous dizzyingly toxic escapades. This is best demonstrated by songs such as Distracted by the Mona Lisa, Lemon, The Demon of Unreality Limping Like a Dog, and Two-Headed Trout. We can experience this lighthearted freedom at the band's concert on February 9 at Dürer Kert.
