With hits like I’m Just a Kid, Perfect, and Welcome to My Life, Simple Plan provided the soundtrack to many people’s teenage years, while continuing to evolve and stay on the road over the past 25 years, cementing their place among pop-punk legends with one hit after another. The band celebrated their 25th anniversary last year, and as part of the occasion their Bigger Than You Think! tour will reach Europe this fall, including a stop in Budapest: everyone is invited to the birthday punk party on October 21 at Barba Negra.
Over the past 25 years, Simple Plan has become one of the most successful pop-punk bands in the world. Their multi-platinum 2002 debut album, No Pads, No Helmets… Just Balls, featured hits such as I’d Do Anything, I’m Just A Kid, Addicted, and Perfect, while later successes – Welcome To My Life, Summer Paradise, Untitled (How Could This Happen To Me?), Shut Up!, and What’s New Scooby-Doo? – firmly established their status as legends of the genre.
Formed in Montreal, the four-piece has sold over 10 million albums worldwide, conquered the main stages of the Vans Warped Tour and the When We Were Young festivals, performed at the 2010 Winter Olympics and with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra, while selling out shows around the globe and raising more than $3 million for the Simple Plan Foundation. Their music videos have surpassed one billion views on YouTube, and their creative social media presence has generated another billion views, driven largely by the viral #ImJustAKid challenge, which even artists such as *NSYNC, Ed Sheeran, and Venus and Serena Williams joined.
In 2025, the band reached a major milestone: they have now been making music together for 25 years. They celebrated the quarter-century with a career-spanning documentary released on Amazon Prime Video and a world tour alongside Avril Lavigne and The Offspring. After getting a taste of their wild house-party energy supporting The Offspring in October, this time the spotlight will be entirely theirs at the Budapest stop.
“We had such a great time playing all over Europe and the UK this past fall, we decided we just had to come back again in 2026!” - The band shares. - “We couldn’t be more excited to bring our very own “Bigger Than You Think!” Tour all across the continent, playing full headline shows and extending our 25th anniversary celebrations. We're so happy to be adding Budapest to the tour, and getting to celebrate with our Hungarian fans at Barba Negra! We will be performing all of our biggest hits along with fan favorites we rarely play live, spanning our entire discography. And we’re also bringing our friends Neck Deep with us, so these are going to be really special shows! As we reflect on the past few years, we can’t help but feel so grateful and amazed at how awesome it’s been to play in Europe and the UK and receive such incredible support from all of you. It’s been so cool to see our old-school fans still coming to see us and a whole new generation joining them. The shows keep getting bigger and bigger and we can’t believe we will be playing such iconic, massive venues like Wembley Arena in London and the Accor Arena in Paris. This is a dream come true for us and we owe it all to you. Thank you so much and can’t wait to see you at the shows!"
Simple Plan will donate $1 from each ticket and VIP package sold on this tour to the Simple Plan Foundation. Established in 2005, the Simple Plan Foundation focuses on helping young people in need and showcasing the power of music as a tool to find purpose and direction in life. Since its inception the Simple Plan Foundation has donated over $3M to various charitable causes in Canada and has been awarded many prestigious distinctions for its philanthropic work.
Tickets will first be available to members of the band’s official fan club and registered Live Nation members from February 6 at 12:00 PM, while general on-sale begins on February 9 at 11:00 AM.
