Special guests including Alexandra Szalay-Bobrovniczky, Deputy Mayor of Budapest and dr. Imre Deák, board member of the Hungarian Hotel and Restaurant Association congratulated the winners alongside Peter Freed, founder of the Best of Budapest & Hungary quality assurance system and Réka Alíz Francisck, Editor-in-chief of Best of Budapest & Hungary. On behalf the Budapest Marriott Hotel, General Manager Rick Enders greeted the 300 guests present at the event, representing Hungary’s and Budapest’s buzzing hospitality sector.
Following the awards ceremony, in line with the gala’s theme ’Starring Hungary’, guests enjoyed a lavish “Hungary-inspired” dinner buffet created by the hotel’s chef Imre Maráczi. The feast was complete with a selection of Hungarian wines that arrived from Bock Pince, Holdvölgy, Kertész Családi Pincészet, Koch Borászat, Kovács Nimród Winery, Malatinszky Kúria, St. Andrea and Zsadányi Szőlőbirtok & Pincészet, spirits from Schiszler pálinka and bubbly from the Törley Pezsgőpincészet, while NaturAqua and Borsodi quenched guests' thirst with mineral water and a wide beer selection. Sushi Sei prepared Hungarian sushi specialties while SZEGA Foods presented a range of fragrant cheese and Panificio il Basilico brought the most heavenly bakery products along with fantastic cured ham. Nespresso Business Solutions offered fine coffee creations and Ráchel Raj designed a gorgeous cake by Torta.hu. Host of the evening, Ágnes Szabados entertained guests along with the world-famous Virtuózok. The gala ended with a charity raffle to benefit the Magic Lamp Foundation.
