‘Best of Budapest’ is an independent qualification system that was created by Budapest Week Publishing in 1993 for the purpose of maintaining quality. Partners featured in our publications and our web site are chosen by us from the best in Budapest. They have proven over the years that they are worthy of the recognition on the basis of their performance in the catering and service sectors. It is important for us that the services provided by the partner we offer are of high standard, trustworthy and of lasting quality. The name ‘Best of Budapest’ is a guarantee that those using the services meet with the same quality whenever they return. The partners of ‘Best of Budapest’ form a community. By maintaining or improving the standard of their services, they also strengthen each other and set further requirements for each other..

The ‘Best of Budapest’ restaurant and hotel guide has been enhancing the image of Budapest Week Publishing since 1993. At the beginning, the little book was published once a year but recently – due to the great interest –, it comes out twice a year. The bilingual, English-Hungarian gastronomy and tourism publication helps tourists coming to Hungary, as well as foreigners and Hungarians living in this country, to be guided among the quality service restaurants and hotels. It provides a comprehensive picture of the excellent restaurants of the Hungarian capital and generally of the best catering places. In addition to picturesque and detailed offers, pictures, menu offers and the little symbols indicating different services facilitate orientation and choice in this organically edited publication. If you would like to visit any of the restaurants found in the Best of Budapest guide, you can simply book a table on our web site. Our online booking system is the first and unique in Hungary. It does not only make communication simpler with the chosen restaurant for the guest but it also means mutual guarantee for both parties. Best of Budapest Gala

In connection with the Best of Budapest restaurant and hotel guide, every spring, we organize the Best of Budapest award-giving gala evening where the most outstanding restaurants, hotels and other service providers of the past year are recognized. |
The Best of Budapest Gala is held every spring with the most outstanding restaurants, hotels and other service providers of the past year recognized. The apropos of the event is the ceremonial handing over of the Best of Budapest awards won by the worthy service providers through an open vote. The winners of the given year are revealed at the Best Of Budapest Award-Giving Gala. Since 2000, the event has been held in the ballroom of Hotel InterContinental Budapest with the participation of over 600 guests. On this occasion, we express our gratitude to all those who raised the “gauge of quality” with their outstanding activity in the previous year. Every year, we can welcome the prominent personalities of our city, along with the representatives of the most outstanding service providers and the important players and decision-makers in business life. The Best of Budapest Gala is one of the most determining events in the city where guests and professionals alike can get acquainted with the important gastronomical changes and novelties in Hungary’s capital city. At the Gala evening, we place great emphasis on gastronomy in the framework of the program ‘Flavors of the City” where 16-18 great restaurants prepare the dinner and guests are able to taste the most outstanding Hungarian and foreign wines and champagne. At the Gala evening, we organize charity raffle draw and auction from which the full proceeds go to a worthy foundation every year. In addition, good company, a colorful program, warming music, dance and the casino is awaiting everybody.

The Best of Budapest Award
|
Budapest Week Publishing has been asking its readers and business partners as well as the committee members of the publisher every year since 1993 who they consider the best in the domestic catering, hotel and other service spheres. Based on these votes, strictly supervised by the publisher, the ‘Best of Budapest’ title is awarded in some 60 categories. |
The Best of Budapest Award is the measure of quality – a recognition that can be won by service providers in Budapest who maintain a high quality service. Included in great number among the recipients of the award are the four- and five-star hotels and restaurants of Budapest, categorized according to their type, as well as other service providers who make life easier or better for people who live or just stay in Budapest. You may see the full list of categories here. The publisher chooses the worthy recipients for that year after voting by the public and the editors. The general public plays an important role in selecting the award recipients. The open vote starts in December each year and ends three weeks before the Gala evening. On our web sites, in our partner restaurants, hotels and other service venues, we announce the start of the voting as well as the access to the voting system. Anyone can cast their vote, even in all fifty categories. One person is allowed to have one vote in each category. A professional committee of our publisher supervises the quality of the service providers and makes a judgment, deciding which service providers are worthy of the qualifications in the given year. The condition for the award is that the service provider maintains a high standard service over a longer period. You may see the further considerations of the classification here. We provide the award-winning service providers with a certificate that they can hang on the wall of their venue, as well as a self-adhesive logo that can be placed on glass so that customers may see the classification from far away.
