In addition to all-time-favorite sushi and sashimi varieties, a wide range of á la carte dishes is on offer to take guests on a culinary journey not only to Japan: it is the aim of the restaurant to introduce a brand new pan-Asian menu that is a mix of Chinese, Korean and Japanese tastes. Two Hungarian chefs, who are big fans of Asia, László Nagy and Tibor Szanyiszló joined Japanese chef Usuda Masato to cater for all diner’s needs, including vegetarians and even special diets (e.g. gluten-free).

As the name suggests (Kanpai means 'Cheers' while Izakaya is a very popular place of entertainment in Japan), Kanpai Izakaya offers a true bistro-pub atmosphere. As the restaurant’s Executive Manager, Balázs Major reveals, the whole interior went thru a major refurbishment recently, and now features a sophisticated minimal design and seating on two floors. The upstairs room can serve as a private room for 25. Home-delivery is also available, currently in six districts and we suggest you try the lunch menu (2-, 3- or 4 courses) served until mid-afternoon at a very reasonable price (HUF 1,290-2,290).

In the late afternoon and in the evening, Kanpai Izakaya is always a good choice for a drink: Schochu spirits, up to 15 different sakes, beers and a wide choice of oriental cocktails are available until 12 PM. We have tried the restaurant’s brand new spring menu: a very exciting fusion menu we recommend to all.
