23rd Wine Festival at the Buda castle
Budapest's International Wine and Champagne Festival is the highlight of the fall festival scene. To be organized on September 10-14, this year's fest will offer an insight into the Italian wine regions, and promote healthy lifestyle.

One of Central Europe's most prestigious, most popular combined wine - art fest, the International Wine and Champagne Festival presents thousands of Hungary's best reds and whites along with live music, gourmet food and countless programs. A grape harvest parade, a champagne knight initiation ceremony, a Wine Academy and a number of concerts - these are those programs the fest traditionally presents, in the beautiful historic setting of the UNESCO World Heritage site Buda Castle.

What's new?

This year’s guest country is Italy who brings you insight to the Italian wine regions and “Tastes of Italy” stands in the Bonfini Garden, where you can enjoy delicious antipasti, freshly baked bread, top quality traditional hams and cheeses, risotto, fish and shellfish. The motto of this year’s fest is “Healthy lifestyle” with a focus on the beneficial effects of wine when consumed moderately.
Free WIFI and a brand new smart phone app will be available that includes a map of the Wine Festival, data and contact details of exhibiting winemakers, a presentation of performing artists and groups, recommended wine tours and other important information of public interest. As a novelty, the fest introduces the ‘Budapest Terrace,’ located at the Baroque gate. Find out more on these new features at the fest’s website.
